Trial Lesson & Level Assessment
START WITH THE RIGHT FOUNDATION BEFORE ENROLLING
At Little Atelier Music, we recommend that all new students begin with a Trial Lesson & Level Assessment. This helps us place each student in the most suitable program, at the right learning pace, and in the lesson format that best supports their growth from the very first session.
Why We Recommend A Trial Lesson

Understand the student’s current musical abilities and readiness.
Recommend the lesson type (private or group) that best suits their learning style.
Ensure the learning pace and structure match the student’s needs and goals.
Choosing the right program is important. A trial lesson allows both student and instructor to experience the teaching approach, understand expectations and ensure a confident start, helping students progress effectively and enjoy learning from day one.
What Happens During The Trial Lesson
1. Introduction & Background
The instructor learns about the student’s musical experience, interests, and goals to tailor the lesson.
2. Playing & Observation
The student plays simple exercises or musical material appropriate to their level. For beginners, this may involve basic rhythm, coordination, or vocal exercises.
3. Guided Instruction
The instructor provides instruction, feedback and guidance so the student can experience our teaching approach.
4. Assessment & Recommendations
The instructor evaluates technique, musical understanding, and learning style, helping determine the most suitable program and lesson format.
Post Lesson Consultation
Following the session, there will be a brief consultation with the parent and/or student. The instructor will:
01
Share observations from the lesson
02
Recommend the appropriate program and level
03
DESIGN
Suggest on lesson format, focus areas, and next steps
